Let’s take a look at what you can expect from these greenhouses.
Size and Detailing: The three available sizes of Eden Blockley greenhouses are suitable for just about everyone who’s got a lot of growing going on, with the smallest (8 x 10) still able to fit into a good-sized allotment, and the larger ones (8 x 12 and 8 x 14) perfect for a yard or big garden where lots of flowers, vegetables and plants will be grown year-round. All three sizes feature four large roof vents, extra-wide (80mm) gutters with large (40mm) downpipes included, and a strong ridge bar to stabilize the structure completely.
Frames and Base: The Blockleys are built with strong aluminum framing, which is available in three colours: the standard steel mill colour, as well as green and black. Unlike most greenhouses which require an optional base, these come with a built-in base plinth and also have aluminum L-brackets allowing you to bolt your greenhouse directly into any hard surface. Adding even more to the stability provided by the base is the strong ridge bar, which is standard with all Blockley structures. The eaves run from more than five feet tall alongside the wall, to the peak which is more than eight feet high – plenty of room for several people to work at once.
Glazing: The standard glazing for Eden Blockleys is 3mm horticultural glass, and most people will see no reason to upgrade. However, there are two other glazing options available: 3mm toughened safety glass (ideal for locations with lots of wind, or lots of children throwing lots of balls), and an unusual twin wall 6mm polycarbonate glazing which has a number of advantages: it is twice as thick as horticultural or toughened glass, it’s unbreakable, it’s the best possible insulation for indoor growing, and it offers unbeatable protection for delicate seedlings and flowers (because of its opaque nature).
Options: The best add-on from Eden is their exclusive louvred window vent, which has six slats (made from toughened glass) and can be opened or closed automatically with the optional window opener. There is a similar window opener available for the roof vents as well. You can also choose from an enormous selection of accessories for your greenhouse, including one-tier and two-tier staging, luxury staging benches, shelving, heaters and much more.
When you become a “semi-professional” gardener and have progressed past the stage of a starter greenhouse, you’ll be looking for a large structure which can handle lots of seedlings in various stages of development as well as all of your indoor flowers and vegetables. The Eden Blockley provides enough space for all of those projects, along with plenty of room to work in.
