Options: We’ve already touched on the optional steel base for the Hera, as well as the glazing bar capping. Because this greenhouse is hexagonal, rather than square or rectangular, the usual options for adding extra roof vents or side louvre vents are not available. However, you can still add on automatic vent openers (which also close the vents, of course) which can react to the temperature inside the glasshouse and let in more or less air, as needed. One- and two-tier silver staging options are useful add-ons, as are accessories such as thermometers, hygrometers, and hooks for hanging plants.
The Vitavia Hera 4500 is more than just a greenhouse. It’s a beautiful addition to any property, a perfect place to enjoy a sunny day, and a way to show that you appreciate having beautiful things (other than plants and flowers) surrounding you.

If you want to make an architectural statement with your greenhouse, or simply would like to have a wonderful treat for the eyes in the middle of your yard, the Hexagonal Vitavia Hera 4500 is worth a long look. It would even be a fabulous sunroom, providing a peaceful spot for an escape to chill out, right on your own land.
That’s because the Hera isn’t a traditional home glasshouse – it’s hexagonal in shape. The interior creates the optimal environment for your flowers and plants, because of the large amount of exposure to the sun from the six glazed sides and pyramid-shaped roof. And without gushing too much, it’s simply beautiful to look at.

Size and Detailing: This greenhouse only comes in one size, seven feet by eight feet – the measurements are approximate because of the hexagonal shape. (If you’re looking for a larger glasshouse, the Hera 9000 is larger, measuring 11 feet by 12 feet.) It has high eaves 6 feet tall and a total of 4.5 square metres of growing space, which is also plenty of room for several people to relax in the sun. There is a sliding door along with two side vents which open for ventilation, and there are built-in rain gutters.
Frames and Base: The Hera 4500’s frame is made from anodised aluminum which won’t rust or discolour; you can select either a powder coated green or natural silver colour. Additional steel braces are built into the structure so that that both the corners and roof are given added strength and stability. A galvanized steel base is also available as an option, and it can either sit directly on concrete or slabs, or be positioned over soft ground where the included corner posts will grab easily. There is a ten year warranty on both the frame and optional base.
Glazing: You can choose the standard horticultural glazing for the Vitavia Hera 4500, or opt for toughened safety glazing if your greenhouse will be located somewhere where there’s danger of breakage. Bar capping is also available for your glazing, holding it firmly in place (as opposed to glazing clips, which can shake loose) in the event of strong winds or other inclement weather.
